TEACHING
As a teaching artist, I work with students of all ages to develop their unique artistic voices in a positive, empowering classroom community. Balancing joy and rigor, I meet each student where they are and playfully invite them towards the next step in their artistic development, always with the aim of building agency and ownership of their unique artistic process. I actively cultivate a learning environment in which all voices are heard and valued, and where the fullness of each student is welcomed and embraced.
I am currently a member of the Acting faculty at The Actors Conservatory, a two-year professional training program in Downtown Portland. Previous classroom and residency teaching experiences include Willamette University, University of Washington, Portland Center Stage, and Young Musicians & Artists Camp.
I offer workshops-for-hire in the following subject areas & modalities:
Singing for Actors
Viscerality: Embodied Communication for Artists & Speakers (with visual artist Arcadia Trueheart & guitarist Maria Olaya)
Site-Specific & Immersive Performance - a Primer for Makers
I am also open to crafting a workshop or coaching session to suit your specific needs! Above all, I’m interested in helping individual artists articulate their creative missions and reach their goals. So please reach out—I’d love to support your work!
